Principal/lead Cloud Solutions Architect – GCP

The Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Principal/lead Cloud Solution Architect is a senior-level member of the team responsible for providing strategic leadership and technical guidance to C2’s Google Cloud initiatives. The primary responsibility of the incumbent will be to ensure customer success with Cloud Solutions, acting as the subject matter expert on Google Cloud Solutions and related technologies for C2, stakeholders and customers.

The incumbent will be responsible for defining tasks, scope, and effort obtained during customer engagement sessions, as well as producing high-level and low-level design documents and other technical project-related artifacts. The incumbent will also be involved in the qualification and bid process for new opportunities, providing relevant technical input into the process.

It is critical that the incumbent understands the customer’s project objectives, cost implications, scalability and performance requirements, security and compliance requirements, and undertake detailed research to identify the optimal Google cloud solution required to deliver a correctly designed solution architecture that meets customer business requirements.

As the GCP Principal Cloud Solution Architect, the incumbent will also ensure the implementation and standardization of documentation and process standards within the discipline of Cloud Solution Architects, as well as implementation and monitoring of Solution Architects quality standards. To be successful in this role, the incumbent should have a deep understanding of Google cloud technologies and extensive experience in designing and implementing large-scale cloud-based solutions. The incumbent must also have excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to manage complex projects and initiatives. Additionally, the Principal Cloud Solutions Architect must stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in cloud technologies and best practices.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Cloud Strategy Development: The incumbent will develop and implement a comprehensive cloud computing strategy that aligns with the organization's overall business goals and objectives. This includes identifying opportunities for cloud-based solutions, defining cloud adoption roadmaps, and developing business cases for cloud initiatives.
  2. Cloud Solution Design and Architecture: The incumbent will provide technical leadership and oversight for the design and architecture of cloud-based solutions. This includes defining cloud solution architectures that meet the scalability, availability, security, and performance requirements of the customers, as well as ensuring the solutions are aligned with industry best practices and standards.
  3. Cloud Governance, Risk and Compliance: The incumbent will establish cloud governance frameworks that ensure the customers’ cloud-based solutions are compliant with relevant regulations, policies, and standards. This includes establishing and enforcing cloud security policies, monitoring compliance, and identifying and addressing potential security risks.
  4. Cloud Technology Evaluation and Selection: The incumbent will evaluate new and emerging cloud computing technologies and make recommendations for adoption. This includes evaluating the suitability of cloud solutions for the organization's needs, assessing the performance and cost-effectiveness of cloud solutions, and making recommendations for technology selection.
  5. Cloud Migration Planning and Execution: The incumbent will develop and execute cloud migration strategies for existing applications and infrastructure. This includes identifying migration priorities, developing migration plans, and coordinating migration activities with stakeholders.
  6. Cloud Cost Optimization and Management: The incumbent will develop and implement strategies for optimizing cloud costs and managing cloud expenses. This includes identifying cost optimization opportunities, implementing cost-saving measures, and monitoring and managing cloud expenses.

Cloud Skills Development and Talent Management: The incumbent will develop and implement strategies for building and managing a team of cloud computing professionals. This includes identifying skills gaps, developing training programs, and providing leadership and mentorship to team members.

Education, Experience & Skills

Formal Qualifications Required:

•Degree in IT or Engineering related field and post-Graduate

•Google cloud Professional Architects & Google Associate Cloud Engineer

•Other Industry certifications

 

Job Related Experience Required:

5-10 years experience:

  • Supporting / Managing cloud-based infrastructure
  • Demonstrable experience in architecting large-scale cloud migration projects
  • Demonstrate the ability to solve complex, multi- system problems
  • Extensive experience in architecting enterprise public cloud solution
  • Experience of working in a project team using an identified project management methodology
  • In-depth knowledge of various IT and or Telecoms technology architecture domains and convergence.

Job Related Knowledge Required:

  • An in depth understanding of Public/Private/Hybrid Cloud solutions and experienced in integrating public cloud into traditional hosting/delivery models with a specific focus on GCP
  • Extensive experience in conducting Cloud Readiness Assessments observing business and technical perspectives
  • Experience in evaluating existing Compute infrastructure and digital strategies
  • Experience in conducting cloud service maps, TCO analysis, security considerations as part of a wider Cloud Adoption Framework
  • Cross Domain Technology Architecture knowledge coupled with implementation experience including a combination.

Job Related Skills Required:

  • Certified Professional certification (GCP)
  • Network engineering or similar certification would be advantageous
  • Good understanding of technology, products and services offered by Cassava / Liquid C2 and the telecommunications industry.
  • Industry knowledge of Cloud Technologies (Public, Private and Hybrid) and related field like Telecommunications and Datacenters

Board/Professional Membership Required:
